We're partnering with an established Global Research Institute to recruit an Project Lead. This role is central to ensuring the right clinical trial professionals, whether Project Managers, CRAs, or Clinical Coordinators are resourced into the right studies, at the right time, for success.
About the Role
This role is a perfect blend of strategic thinking, workforce planning, and people leadership. You’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining a proactive resourcing model to ensure projects are appropriately staffed, now and into the future.
You'll work across a broad stakeholder network, engaging with project leads, HR, and senior leadership, while keeping a high-level view of all staffing needs across the portfolio. You'll also support senior project managers to lead their teams effectively and ensure staff are supported through project transitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage a forward-looking resourcing plan across all clinical trial projects
- Forecast staff needs based on pipeline activity and upcoming project transitions
- Oversee recruitment for project operations roles, partnering closely with HR
- Monitor project staffing gaps and work to allocate people according to skills, availability, and project needs
- Lead and mentor a team of senior project managers, providing guidance on team management and project delivery
- Contribute to the broader operational strategy as a member of the leadership team
About You
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re highly organised, enjoy working with data, and have a talent for seeing both the big picture and the finer details. You're someone who can build strong relationships across teams but doesn't get caught in the weeds.
You’ll ideally have:
- 6+ years of experience in clinical research operations in a CRO, academic or pharma setting
- Previous experience in resource/workforce planning across multiple concurrent projects
- Strong people leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
- A strategic mindset with an ability to design and implement scalable resourcing models
